Phillip - 2015 Chevrolet Volt
I don't very often take the time to review my car buying experience but dealing with Terry and Paul at Terry Bentz Buick was such a pleasure that I felt compelled to write a review. First off, I want to say that I don't buy cars that often but I have done it enough times to know that it is generally unpleasant.
Right from the beginning, this experience was different. From Paul openness to providing the exact information I asked for to the promptness of email responses, I knew I wasn't dealing with the typical salesperson. As an out of state buyer who was negotiating sight unseen, it was refreshing not to hear the rehearsed sales pitch and the typically vague answers to detailed questions about the vehicle. Paul was very forthright when asked to provide the GM service records and detailed photos of the vehicle, even when it required the vehicle to be put on a lift.
When it came time to negotiate the price, it was also a pleasant surprise. Instead of an adversarial back and forth one usually encounters, Paul was honest and direct about his bottom line and what he was willing to do to close the deal. In the end, the whole process took no more than 3 days from start to finish. By the time I arrived in Illinois to buy the car, other dealerships that I had started talking to at the same time were just getting back to me with "perhaps we could find you a car with fewer options for that price".
I highly recommend working with Terry and Paul if you are looking for a new car, especially if you are buying through the internet and from out of state. As a small town dealership, you get a level of attention and courtesy that is often missing in larger dealerships. And if you get lucky, maybe Paul will take you to get a ribeye sandwich for lunch!
